![]() ![]() It's a long process from the time you first apply for a position as a TRAX Operator Trainee until you complete your training and receive your operator's license. Take your talent to one of Utah’s tech companies, where your salary will be higher, the quality of management will be higher, you will likely work with leaders and not career government micro-managers, and you may have a clean safe space to work in. The best they can do is free popcorn on Friday. Oh yes, if you are fortunate enough to work in the downtown headquarters, you will share your space with roaches, and cold air coming in from the unfixed cracks in the walls caused by the earthquake, bring your own space heater, it’s about 60 degrees in the morning. Leadership doesn’t exist but management does. There is not an open door policy so if you’re not in a good place with your immediate manager there isn’t an option for you but to live with it. There is zero - zero - culture at UTA, and a lot of cheap talk and motivational (which are demotivating) posters on the walls. Benefits are good, but attracting fresh talent is a challenge because pay is intentionally below market. There is the opportunity to work with many different groups of people. ![]() The work at UTA is interesting, and challenging - but in a good way. ![]()
